Things are starting to brighten up.

One day

Quick post after a tiring day. I remembered it’s been a while since I played with my Nikkor 50 mm f 1.4, so I looked for a photo from its first days.

One day by David Nicholls

One day by David Nicholls

It is grainy, but the photo was taken at f 1.4, ISO 1600, 1/25 s with my baby D40 (which I sold in December) in very low lighting conditions (just a small lamp nearby), so overall I think the lens did a good job.
Now…about the book. I borrowed it from a friend. I must say I was suspicious because it’s wasn’t the type of book I expected him to read,  let alone like and recommend! I’ve read it pretty fast and I must say I enjoyed it, although it seemed simple and cliché
first hand. Basically, the book traces the relationship between the two main characters on the same day, every year, for two decades. What I liked: the fact that it is not a fairytale, it fast forwards through life presenting its ups and its downs in an emotional and sometimes humorous manner. It gives you a sense of perspective and as you finish a chapter, the following question pops into your head: “I wonder…what will happen to them next year?”

Ticket to the Moon

Home on a Friday afternoon, with a feverish state of mind. While listening to a very inspiring song performed by the Electric Light Orchestra, I remembered I had this simple photo hidden somewhere in my 2009 folder.
